Hello, and how are you
Under water? A cloudbank in your head
You’re such a goner
Your beer light’s debt is due
My glue sky turns to blue
The kids out on the corners watch us crashcart

Sugary and too high in the high beams
Buzzy with an atmosphere that traps our light in dreams
Overburning glaze against the flooring
It’s hard to hear our heartbeats through the vacuum cleaner’s roaring

Goodbye, will you remember
Breathing fire, tangled in a nest
Of hair and wire?
I feel like falling apart
Or maybe take a walk in the dark
You keep saying I should listen harder.

Too high and my body’s in the low beams
Tractored toward a darkness that is ripping at what seems
Way too easy-peasy is a phrase I’d never use
To counteract the buildings I’m collapsing
